Beauty and the Beast : A Review on walt disney Pictures

Today I am gonna publish a guest post by a girl who used to lives in her DREAMs .

Based on the classic fairy tale, Walt Disney Animation Studios in the year 1991 re-produced this in amazing piece of artwork in the form of feature film. The movie is a complete 2D animation and one of its finest works ever done.

It treats the audience with the provincial landscape of France and every frame is a hand-drawn masterpiece. The characters, colors, the transformation and transitions display the best hands at work.
             The Beast is well conceptualized to put the horror and cartoon in a balance making it an element of scare and innocence with the passage of frames. Belle is beautiful as she should be with an air of oddity paired with her dark brown eyes. Every character that has a part in the story along with every single character in the crowd is given a “character” and they have all played it well.

Bells’ falling in love with the Beast is the essence of the movie and the artists have done their fine job of taking you on the roller coaster ride of emotions through their subtleties in movements and dance particularly the one at the evening ball room. The detailing are some of the finest works. It is perfectly portrayed in the golden and blue hues with utterly soothing music and top class hand drawn animation. Words are not enough to describe it.

It is far too easy to criticize something brilliant with a little piece of junk than to find words for a great piece of flawless artwork. This movie does the latter to you. It leaves you spellbound throughout the time it plays and short of words when the spell finally breaks. The permanent challenge that has always been with adaptations is to keep the audience hooked even when they know what is about to happen. The portrayal of characters is brilliant in every sense; be it animation or voice. The castle with its gargoyles, interiors, gardens and the magically transformed characters is a treat to watch and listen. It is a story of magic and the movie slowly and surely unfolds into one.

This movie is the storehouse of one of the best handiwork's ever produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
             The subtleties of the lighting, the bold strokes in the background painting and the amazing background score are no less than magic. This is simply not a movie but a journey that takes you on a personal transformation like the Beast.
We find ourselves so lost in the art of the movie that we find new definitions of love. The very story is about; “…for beauty is found within.” and anyone who looks closely to the details will find exactly that.

These creative types sure know how to do things in style. Milwaukee-based illustrator/animator Adam Rosenbaum created this amazing animated clip to pop the question to his girlfriend last month. Adam worked on his ‘proposal’ for 3 months using his evenings after work and the occasional weekend. On 21st June he took her for a walk and showed her this clip … and of course, she said YES.




Well done, Sir. By the way, Adam’s girlfriend isn’t the only one to have seen this video.

 Much to their surprise, this 2-minute clip has gone viral online with almost 80,000 views ever since he uploaded it last month. Seen a cooler wedding proposal off-late?

Paramount Animation Names DiSalvo Creative Director



This is a news report got from 3D Tutorial and first posted in Studio News and It is taken with proper permission of their group.

Lino DeSalvo has been tapped as the new creative director for Paramount Animation. Adam Goodman, the president of Paramount group, made the announcement as his office oversees the studio.
After putting in 16 years at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he was the head of animation on the widely acclaimed Frozen, DiSalvo has committed himself to Paramount for the future of their animation.

One of the first efforts that they will complete together is working on making the studios into some of the top-of-the-line products.

Goodman noted that he has made it his personal effort to recruit some of the best talent when it comes to artists and storytellers, and that DiSalvo will make a valuable addition to the team. Goodman believes that the CGI model of animation is still in its earliest stages, and that his new creative director will be able to take the art form to brand new heights by utilizing his limitless potential.

Among DiSalvo’s other film credits are supervising animator on projects such as Chicken Little and the famous Tangled films.

The most current production that is being lead by the latest addition to the team is called Monster Trucks, which is said to be a hybrid of live action and CGI. It is going to be released in May 2015, tentatively.

What Does a Graphic Designer Need to Know

There are many skills necessary for graphic designers, many of which have nothing to do with graphic design at all. For instance, many graphic designers work from home or on a contract basis (working solo, and not as part of a company's in-house design team). For those designers, financial skills such as billing and hour tracking are important parts of the job, although not necessarily the most fun. 
In addition, communications skills are paramount. Communication often occurs over the phone or via e-mail. Getting to the core of what your customer is looking for in a design or logo is incredibly important. It will lead to fewer redesigns and, ultimately, to happier clients or employers.

Of course, most of your workday will be spent designing commercial artwork. 
Even here, you can focus your skills on any number of areas. 
Graphic designers can, in the right situation, specialize in Web design (including HTML, CSS, PHP, Flash and Photoshop work), 
Desktop publishing (including the ability to produce reports, brochures, magazine and book layouts, newsletters and more),
Advertising design (such as producing print and visual ideas and designs for marketing campaigns), Product design (which includes product boxes and other packaging).

In all of these, designers with skills and experience using programs such as 
Photoshop, 
Illustrator, 
InDesign, 
QuarkXPress and possibly 
CAD (computer aided design) programs will find themselves in greater demand.






What Is Required Training for a Graphic Designer

Different design positions are going to have different degree qualifications so it's difficult to make a blanket statement for required training.

Most graphic designers have, at a minimum, a two-year degree, while many go for a more complete four-year degree. There are many advantages to attaining a higher level of education (although it can be tempting to see how far your natural skills can take you).
Among the advantages, the most obvious is the value a potential employer may put on a degree. Having a diploma (whether it is an associate's degree focusing on the more technical skills or a bachelor's degree that includes social and cultural studies) can be an indicator to an employer that you have a solid skill set, beyond what is observable from your portfolio.

What Does a Graphic Designer Do Every Day

While there may be no simple schedule a graphic designer can expect to keep on a day-to-day basis, there are a few tasks you will find yourself spending most of your time completing. The first of these is related to what your project will be, and what your design will look like. Second is actually working on one (or more) possible designs, so your clients have a choice.
The third area includes meetings, billing and other organizational activities. Depending on whether you work for a company or for yourself, these organizational activities can be a large or small part of your day. Finally, a graphic designer will spend a good deal of time preparing finalized artwork for presentation, either at a print shop or dealing with finalized electronic files.

Being a graphic designer can be a very rewarding career, allowing you to flex your creative muscles, but it's not all about design. Client management and other organizational skills are important elements of a successful graphic design career.

Mind-Boggling Geometric GIFs




One look at the GIFs on this page and you can tell that the person behind them has mathematical sensibilities. They were created by physics student David Whyte using the Processing software, and their spinning geometric movements are simply mesmerizing to look at.

Whyte posts his creations to his Bees & Bombs Tumblr and they lean heavily on his scientific and mathematical background, playing with shapes and motion as formations shift and slide to form new patterns. The movements can be both subtle or dramatic but are always fascinating. They show how, with a little coding, Whyte can create complex patterns out of minimalist design.

Whyte's been making GIFs for the Bees & Bombs Tumblr since 2011 and he's also posted a short how-to so people can create GIFs themselves using Processing.

Introduction


Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D or 3-D artwork or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement.

The effect is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision, and can be created and demonstrated in several ways.
The most common method of presenting animation is as a motion picture or video program, although there are other methods.
A simulation of movement created by displaying a series of pictures, or frames.Cartoons on television are one example of animation. Animation on computers isone of the chief ingredients of multimedia presentations. There are many software applications that enable you to create animations that you can display on a computer monitor.Note the difference between animation and video.

Whereas video takes continuous motion and breaks it up into discrete frames, animation starts with independent pictures and puts them together to form the illusion of continuous motion.

Early examples of attempts to capture the phenomenon of motion drawing can be found in Paleolithic cave paintings, where animals are depicted with multiple legsin superimposed positions, clearly attempting to convey the perception of motion.

A 5,000 year old earthen bowl found in Iran in Shahr-i Sokhta has five images of a goat painted along the sides. This has been claimed to be an example of early animation. However, since no equipment existed to show the images in motion,such a series of images cannot be called animation in a true sense of the word.A Chinese zoetrope-type device had been invented in 180 AD.

The phenakistoscope, praxinoscope, and the common flip book were early popular animation devices invented during the 19th century.These devices produced the appearance of movement from sequential drawing suing technological means, but animation did not really develop much further until the advent of cinematography.

There is no single person who can be considered the "creator" of film animation, as there were several people working on projects which could be considered animation at about the same time.

Georges Méliès was a creator of special-effect films; he was generally one of the first people to use animation with his technique.
He discovered a technique by accident which was to stop the camera rolling to change something in the scene,and then continue rolling the film. This idea was later known as stop-motion animation.

 Méliès discovered this technique accidentally when his camera brokedown while shooting a bus driving by. When he had fixed the camera, a hearse happened to be passing by just as Méliès restarted rolling the film, his end result was that he had managed to make a bus transform into a hearse.

This was just one of the great contributors to animation in the early years.The earliest surviving stop-motion advertising film was an English short by Arthur Melbourne-Cooper called Matches: An Appeal (1899). Developed for the Bryant and May Matchsticks company, it involved stop-motion animation of wired-together matches writing a patriotic call to action on a blackboard.J. Stuart Black ton was possibly the first American film-maker to use the techniques of stop-motion and hand-drawn animation.

Introduced to film-making by Edison,he pioneered these concepts at the turn of the 20th century, with his first copyrighted work dated 1900. Several of his films, among them
The Enchanted Drawing (1900) and
Humorous Phases of Funny Faces (1906) were film versions of Black tons "lightning artist" routine, and utilized modified versions of Méliès early stop-motion techniques to make a series of blackboard drawings appear to move and reshape themselves.
Humorous Phases of Funny Faces is regularly cited as the first true animated film, and Black ton is considered the first true animator.Another French artist, Émile Cohl, began drawing cartoon strips and created a film in 1908 called Phantasmagoria. The film largely consisted of a stick figure moving about and encountering all manner of morphing objects, such as a wine bottle that
transforms into a flower. There were also sections of live action where the animator‘s hands would enter the scene.

The film was created by drawing each frame on paper and then shooting each frame onto negative film, which gave the picture a blackboard look. This makes Phantasmagoria the first animated film created using what came to be known as traditional (hand-drawn) animation.

Following the successes of Blackton and Cohl, many other artists began experimenting with animation.
One such artist was Winsor McCay, a successful newspaper cartoonist, who created detailed animations that required a team of artists and painstaking attention for detail.
Each frame was drawn on paper; which invariably required backgrounds and characters to be redrawn and animated.Among McCays most noted films are little Nemo (1911), Gertie the Dinosaur(1914) and The Sinking of the Lusitania (1918).The production of animated short films, typically referred to as "cartoons", became an industry of its own during the 1910s, and cartoon shorts were produced to beshown in movie theaters. The most successful early animation producer was JohnRandolph Bray, who, along with animator Earl Hurd, patented the cell animationprocess which dominated the animation industry for the rest of the decade.

What is Simulation in 3D? | What is 3D Simulation?

A simulation of a system is the operation of a model of the system. The model can be reconfigured and experimented with; usually, this is impossible, too expensive or impractical to do in the system it represents. The operation of the model can be studied, and hence, properties concerning the behavior of the actual system or its subsystem can be inferred. In its broadest sense, simulation is a tool to evaluate the performance of a system, existing or proposed, under different configurations of interest and over long periods of real time.

Simulation is used before an existing system is altered or a new system built, to reduce the chances of failure to meet specifications, to eliminate unforeseen bottlenecks, to prevent under or over-utilization of resources, and to optimize system performance. For instance, simulation can be used to answer questions like:

What is the best design for a new telecommunications network?

What are the associated resource requirements?

How will a telecommunication network perform when the traffic load increases by 50%?

How will a new routing algorithm affect its performance?

Which network protocol optimizes network performance?

What will be the impact of a link failure?

The subject of this tutorial is discrete event simulation in which the central assumption is that the system changes instantaneously in response to certain discrete events. For instance, in an M/M/1 queue - a single server queuing process in which time between arrivals and service time are exponential - an arrival causes the system to change instantaneously.

On the other hand, continuous simulators, like flight simulators and weather simulators, attempt to quantify the changes in a system continuously over time in response to controls.
Discrete event simulation is less detailed (coarser in its smallest time unit) than continuous simulation but it is much simpler to implement, and hence, is used in a wide variety of situations.

In a simulation study, human decision making is required at all stages, namely, model development, experiment design, output analysis, conclusion formulation, and making decisions to alter the system under study.
The only stage where human intervention is not required is the running of the simulations, which most simulation software packages perform efficiently.
The important point is that powerful simulation software is merely a hygiene factor - its absence can hurt a simulation study but its presence will not ensure success. Experienced problem formulators and simulation modelers and analysts are indispensable for a successful simulation study.

The steps involved in developing a simulation model, designing a simulation experiment, and performing simulation analysis are:

Step 1. Identify the problem.

Step 2. Formulate the problem.

Step 3. Collect and process real system data.

Step 4. Formulate and develop a model.

Step 5. Validate the model.

Step 6. Document model for future use.

Step 7. Select appropriate experimental design.

Step 8. Establish experimental conditions for runs.

Step 9. Perform simulation runs.

Step 10. Interpret and present results.

Step 11. Recommend further course of action.

Although this is a logical ordering of steps in a simulation study, many iterations at various sub-stages may be required before the objectives of a simulation study are achieved. Not all the steps may be possible and/or required. On the other hand, additional steps may have to be performed. The next three sections describe these steps in detail.

How to develop a Simulation Model?


Simulation models consist of the following components: system entities, input variables, performance measures, and functional relationships. For instance in a simulation model of an M/M/1 queue, the server and the queue are system entities, arrival rate and service rate are input variables, mean wait time and maximum queue length are performance measures, and 'time in system = wait time + service time' is an example of a functional relationship.

In the steps below their are so many mathematical formula and issues are being mentioned but those are really not understandable by me...So I am really sorry for adding those lines in here....!!

Almost all simulation software packages provide constructs to model each of the above components. Modeling is arguably the most important part of a simulation study. Indeed, a simulation study is as good as the simulation model. Simulation modeling comprises the following steps:

Step 1. Identify the problem. Enumerate problems with an existing system. Produce requirements for a proposed system.

Step 2. Formulate the problem. Select the bounds of the system, the problem or a part thereof, to be
studied. Define overall objective of the study and a few specific issues to be addressed. Define performance measures - quantitative criteria on the basis of which different system configurations will be compared and ranked. Identify, briefly at this stage, the configurations of interest and formulate hypotheses about system performance.

Decide the time frame of the study, i.e. will the model be used for a one-time decision (e.g.,capital expenditure) or over a period of time on a regular basis (e.g., air traffic scheduling). Identify the end user of the simulation model, e.g., corporate management versus a production supervisor. Problems must be formulated as precisely as possible.

Step 3. Collect and process real system data. Collect data on system specifications (e.g., bandwidth for a communication network), input variables, as well as performance of the existing system. Identify sources of randomness in the system, i.e., the stochastic input variables. Select an appropriate input probability distribution for each stochastic input variable and estimate corresponding parameter(s). Software packages for distribution fitting and selection include ExpertFit, BestFit, and add-ons in some standard statistical packages. These aids combine goodness-of-fit tests, e.g., χ2
test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, and Anderson-Darling test, and parameter estimation in a user friendly format.
Standard distributions, e.g., exponential, Poisson, normal, hyper exponential, etc., are easy to model and simulate. Although most simulation software packages include many distributions as a standard feature, issues relating to random number generators and generating random variates from various distributions are pertinent and should be looked into. Empirical distributions are used when standard distributions are not appropriate or do not fit the available system data. Triangular, uniform or normal distribution is used as a first guess when no data are available. For a detailed treatment of probability
distributions see Maria and Zhang (1997).

Step 4. Formulate and develop a model. Develop schematics and network diagrams of the system (How do entities flow through the system?). Translate these conceptual models to simulation software acceptable form. Verify that the simulation model executes as intended. Verification techniques include traces, varying input parameters over their acceptable range and checking the output, substituting constants for random variables and manually checking results, and animation.

Step 5. Validate the model. Compare the model's performance under known conditions with the
performance of the real system. Perform statistical inference tests and get the model examined by system experts. Assess the confidence that the end user places on the model and address problems if any. For major simulation studies, experienced consultants advocate a structured presentation of the model by the simulation analyst(s) before an audience of management and system experts. This not only ensures that the model assumptions are correct, complete and consistent, but also enhances confidence in the model.

what is Three Point Perspective?

When we talk about Three Point Perspective...we feel very excited infect I used to get excited because it gives us the illusion of feeling 2 dimensional things in 3 dimension.
Three point perspective is probably the most challenging of all. In three-point perspective every line will eventually converge on one of three points. Three-point perspective is the most dramatic of all and can often be seen in comic books when the hero is flying over buildings or whooping butt in the alley below as the buildings tower above.



Lets take an example we are watching an object from the top, we are most likely viewing it in three-point perspective.
Most often we are able to draw this view without worrying too much about the third point, but if the object is viewed at such as angle as to make the sides appear to be oblique from side to side and top to bottom, then we must use the third point.
A good example of three-point perspective is to look at a tall building from either a top view or a bottom view as shown below.

Establish the corner of the building that is closest to you and draw the vertical height line. Next, establish the angles of the sides by drawing in the top and bottom guidelines.

Using visual measurements, establish the bottom width of each side by placing dots on the bottom lines. Now, measure the top width of the left side only and place a dot on the guideline.

Draw a vertical line downward. Now draw a line down from the top left through the bottom left and extend it down below the building. The point where the lines cross is the position of the third vanishing point.



One-point and two-point perspective techniques can be used in the same image if needed to represent different objects. Determine if an object’s face (one-point) or edge (two-point) is closest to the viewer and then use the appropriate method. Each object may also have its own vanishing points, since only aligned objects will share them.

If the corner of an object is closest to the picture plane, then three-point perspective can be used. The third vanishing point is not on the horizon line. The position where the third vanishing point is placed, either above or below the horizon line, indicates whether the viewer is looking up at the object or looking down.

Notice that in the chair illustration the picture plane does not contain the vanishing points. It is not necessary for the vanishing points to be within the picture plane for perspective to work. When creating smaller images using two or three-point perspective, the results will often appear more natural if no more than one vanishing point is in the picture plane at any given time.

An example of where this would be utilized is the view as you look up at large buildings, or look down from the fortieth floor balcony window to see the street below. The three-point perspective drawing consists of two vanishing points that are both situated on a horizon line while a third point is introduced far above or below the horizon line. Be patient when drawing objects in three-point perspective. Understand that the third vanishing point is located off the horizon line and now becomes the z-axis. All lines on the z-axis converge towards this vanishing point. Beware of forced or distorted products that occur when drawing an object outside of the vanishing point triangle.



Incline Plane: Similar to three-point perspective, incline planes are areas which slant to or away from the main perspective grid by utilizing a third vanishing point directly above one main VP.



The name varies, but the reason behind incline planes remains the same. Incline planes are used to develop believable steps, stairs and roads to name a few items. The best example of the incline plane is the roof of a house. A third vanishing point and application of the equal spacing knowledge can be used to create hills, man-made ramps and even stairs.
