Beauty and the Beast : A Review on walt disney Pictures

Today I am gonna publish a guest post by a girl who used to lives in her DREAMs .

Let me call her as Dreamer and She has given me this review on the topic of "BEAUTY and THE BEAST" and her real Name is Sangita Ekka and I think some of you knows her she used to comments and posts so many things in some of the groups in facebook....!!

In this Post You are going to read a review on a very nice story of Bells and Beast..!!

I hope you all like it..!!

Based on the classic fairy tale, Walt Disney Animation Studios in the year 1991 re-produced this in amazing piece of artwork in the form of feature film. The movie is a complete 2D animation and one of its finest works ever done.

It treats the audience with the provincial landscape of France and every frame is a hand-drawn masterpiece. The characters, colors, the transformation and transitions display the best hands at work.
The Beast is well conceptualized to put the horror and cartoon in a balance making it an element of scare and innocence with the passage of frames. Belle is beautiful as she should be with an air of oddity paired with her dark brown eyes. Every character that has a part in the story along with every single character in the crowd is given a “character” and they have all played it well.

Bells’ falling in love with the Beast is the essence of the movie and the artists have done their fine job of taking you on the roller coaster ride of emotions through their subtleties in movements and dance particularly the one at the evening ball room. The detailing are some of the finest works. It is perfectly portrayed in the golden and blue hues with utterly soothing music and top class hand drawn animation. Words are not enough to describe it.

It is far too easy to criticize something brilliant with a little piece of junk than to find words for a great piece of flawless artwork. This movie does the latter to you. It leaves you spellbound throughout the time it plays and short of words when the spell finally breaks. The permanent challenge that has always been with adaptations is to keep the audience hooked even when they know what is about to happen. The portrayal of characters is brilliant in every sense; be it animation or voice. The castle with its gargoyles, interiors, gardens and the magically transformed characters is a treat to watch and listen. It is a story of magic and the movie slowly and surely unfolds into one.

This movie is the storehouse of one of the best handiwork's ever produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The subtleties of the lighting, the bold strokes in the background painting and the amazing background score are no less than magic. This is simply not a movie but a journey that takes you on a personal transformation like the Beast.
We find ourselves so lost in the art of the movie that we find new definitions of love. The very story is about; “…for beauty is found within.” and anyone who looks closely to the details will find exactly that.

So guys How was it..!! I would say you all have liked it right..??...please leave your comment below...!! and leave a comment for our guest..!!!

Animation in Brief and History of Animation

Introduction

Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D or 3-D artwork or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement.

The effect is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision, and can be created and demonstrated in several ways.
The most common method of presenting animation is as a motion picture or video program, although there are other methods.
A simulation of movement created by displaying a series of pictures, or frames.Cartoons on television are one example of animation. Animation on computers isone of the chief ingredients of multimedia presentations. There are many software applications that enable you to create animations that you can display on a computer monitor.Note the difference between animation and video.

Whereas video takes continuous motion and breaks it up into discrete frames, animation starts with independent pictures and puts them together to form the illusion of continuous motion.

History-of-animation

History of Animation

Early examples of attempts to capture the phenomenon of motion drawing can be found in Paleolithic cave paintings, where animals are depicted with multiple legsin superimposed positions, clearly attempting to convey the perception of motion.

A 5,000 year old earthen bowl found in Iran in Shahr-i Sokhta has five images of a goat painted along the sides. This has been claimed to be an example of early animation. However, since no equipment existed to show the images in motion, such a series of images cannot be called animation in a true sense of the word.A Chinese zoetrope-type device had been invented in 180 AD.

The phenakistoscope, praxinoscope, and the common flip book were early popular animation devices invented during the 19th century. These devices produced the appearance of movement from sequential drawing suing technological means, but animation did not really develop much further until the advent of cinematography.

There is no single person who can be considered the "creator" of film animation, as there were several people working on projects which could be considered animation at about the same time.

Georges Méliès was a creator of special-effect films; he was generally one of the first people to use animation with his technique.
He discovered a technique by accident which was to stop the camera rolling to change something in the scene, and then continue rolling the film. This idea was later known as stop-motion animation.

Méliès discovered this technique accidentally when his camera brokedown while shooting a bus driving by. When he had fixed the camera, a hearse happened to be passing by just as Méliès restarted rolling the film, his end result was that he had managed to make a bus transform into a hearse.

This was just one of the great contributors to animation in the early years. The earliest surviving stop-motion advertising film was an English short by Arthur Melbourne-Cooper called Matches: An Appeal (1899). Developed for the Bryant and May Matchsticks company, it involved stop-motion animation of wired-together matches writing a patriotic call to action on a blackboard.J. Stuart Black ton was possibly the first American film-maker to use the techniques of stop-motion and hand-drawn animation.

Introduced to film-making by Edison,he pioneered these concepts at the turn of the 20th century, with his first copyrighted work dated 1900. Several of his films, among them
The Enchanted Drawing (1900) and
Humorous Phases of Funny Faces (1906) were film versions of Black tons "lightning artist" routine, and utilized modified versions of Méliès early stop-motion techniques to make a series of blackboard drawings appear to move and reshape themselves.
Humorous Phases of Funny Faces is regularly cited as the first true animated film, and Black ton is considered the first true animator.Another French artist, Émile Cohl, began drawing cartoon strips and created a film in 1908 called Phantasmagoria. The film largely consisted of a stick figure moving about and encountering all manner of morphing objects, such as a wine bottle that
transforms into a flower. There were also sections of live action where the animator‘s hands would enter the scene.

The film was created by drawing each frame on paper and then shooting each frame onto negative film, which gave the picture a blackboard look. This makes Phantasmagoria the first animated film created using what came to be known as traditional (hand-drawn) animation.

Following the successes of Blackton and Cohl, many other artists began experimenting with animation.
One such artist was Winsor McCay, a successful newspaper cartoonist, who created detailed animations that required a team of artists and painstaking attention for detail.
Each frame was drawn on paper; which invariably required backgrounds and characters to be redrawn and animated.Among McCays most noted films are little Nemo (1911), Gertie the Dinosaur(1914) and The Sinking of the Lusitania (1918).The production of animated short films, typically referred to as "cartoons", became an industry of its own during the 1910s, and cartoon shorts were produced to beshown in movie theaters. The most successful early animation producer was JohnRandolph Bray, who, along with animator Earl Hurd, patented the cell animationprocess which dominated the animation industry for the rest of the decade.

Different types of animation system | what are the types of animation system?

system of animation

Types of Animation System

It is an article from the book Computer Graphics:A Practical Approach, Concepts, Principles, Case Studies, Experiments (For B E/BTech, BCA & MCA Courses by Rajiv Chopra and he has written a very good contents about types of animation system and the it is a high level book which you will be get in ur B.Tech in Animation and here he has written that the types of animation system.

Scripting System

Scripting Systems is the earliest type of motion control systems. The animator writes a script in the animation language. Thus, the user must learn this language and the system is not interactive. One scripting system is ASAS (Actor Script Animation Language), which has syntax similar to LISP. ASAS introduced the concept of an actor, i.e., a complex object which has its own animation rules. For example, in animating a bicycle, the wheels will rotate in their own coordinate system and the animator doesn’t have to worry about this detail. Actors can communicate with other actors be sending messages and so can synchronize their movements. This is similar to the behavior of objects in object-oriented languages.

Procedural Animation

Procedures are used that define movement over time. These might be procedures that use the laws of physics (Physically – based modeling) or animator generated methods. An example is a motion that is the result of some other action (this is called a “secondary action”), for example throwing a ball which hits another object and causes the second object to move.

Representational Animation

This technique allows an object to change its shape during the animation. There are three subcategories to this. The first is the animation of articulated objects, i.e., complex objects composed of connected rigid segments. The second is soft object animation used for deforming and animating the deformation of objects, e.g. skin over a body or facial muscles. The third is morphing which is the changing of one shape into another quite different shape. This can be done in two or three dimensions.

Stochastic Animation

This uses stochastic processes to control groups of objects, such as in particle systems. Examples are fireworks, fire, waterfalls, etc.

Behavioral Animation

Objects or “actors” are given rules about how they react to their environment. Examples are schools of fish or flocks of birds where each individual behaves according to a set of rules defined by the animator.

Moving Images

Film animators act out movements before they start drawing to get the timing correct for animation shots. They need to know how many seconds each move takes, and then they can work out how many drawings are needed. On film there are 24 frames per second. So if it takes 4 seconds to lift a cup of tea and take a sip from it then it will require 96 drawings. Each drawing is shot twice so that cuts it down to 48 drawings. Then the start and end of the movement might be a hold (no movement at all) so that will cut out a few more drawings.

2D Production Pipeline | what are the parts of 2D animation production pipeline?

2D production

pre production

pre production

production

post production

post production

I have designed this image for you all to understand easily and easily catchable and attractive and now I will be discussing them briefly and I think you all will be understand.

Script:
The first and most important stage of any film production is the crafting of a story. However, with animated films, emphasis is placed on the visual scripting of the action and performance whereas in a live action film there would be more concern for the dialogue.

Storyboard:
This is the stage where the actions and events in the script are visualised graphically as a sequential series of images. The creation of a storyboard allows the director to detect any problems with the script and to make necessary changes to enhance the story. A lot of adjustments are made at this stage as once production commences, it is much harder and costly to correct mistakes.

Designs:
A style and a look must be agreed for all characters, props, backgrounds and any other visual elements at this stage. The aim is to produce ‘model sheets’ for each element. The model sheet for a character would consist of the final designs and proportions along with a series of drawn action poses which the character is
likely to assume during the animation. The model sheets are then used as a reference by the team of animators to help keep the look of the character consistent throughout.

Leica Reel (Animatic):
A Leica Reel, or animatic, is simply a filmed version of the storyboard edited together to test how the final edited film would play out. This stage allows for the director to adjust the timing of each shot, plan out action sequences and the soundtrack before the real production begins. It is also at this stage that animation Layouts are produced.

Pencil Tests (Animation):
Once the animatic and all the animation layouts are approved by the director, the animation can finally commence. Using the layouts, the animators complete each shot using one of several available animation methods. They are pose to pose or straight ahead and are described in depth in the next chapter. Once a sequence of animation is completed, then it can be checked by either flipping through the images or sent off to be printed and turned into film. This film of the roughly drawn animation is known as a pencil test.

Cleanup:
As each animator has their own individual approach to drawing, it is the job of the clean up artist to make sure the animators work is consistent with regards to design and perspective. Animators are encouraged to draw roughly in a sketchy style as it results in drawings that capture the ‘feel’ of motion as well as the pose.
The clean up artist must then take these rough drawings and replace the sketchy lines with accurate ones taking into account all the subtle details left out by the animator. The clean up artist must also remain faithful to the careful timing and action designed by the animator.

Inking:
Once all the ‘clean’ frames of animation have been approved by the director they are coloured. Traditionally the drawings would be transferred to thin sheets of acetate known as cells. Colour would then be painted onto the back of the cells. However, this process can now be done digitally.

Checking:
The checker has the tedious job of making sure every frame of a film is correct before it is passed to the final stages of production. This involves, amongst other things, checking for broken lines, dirt on the acetate, ainting mistakes and spotting mistakes and flaws in the character that don’t match the designs. Compositing Once checking is completed and the cell approved, all the elements including animation, backgrounds and special effects must be brought together.
Traditionally, this was done via a camera man, but can now be done digitally by a compositor. Final Edit
This is simply the compilation of all the finished frames into one long sequence ready for viewing on the silver screen.

Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes’ packs in a lot more punch

The second installment of the franchise introduces the Marvel heroes with the ‘celluloid superstars’ Avengers in the forefront of Disney Infinity, but there is equal importance given to the other characters as well. Vignocchi shares the Spider-man Playset, which brings in Spidey, Nova, and a Spider-man specific story centered on trouble cause by Venom.

Disney Infinity 2.0

Also new to the franchise are attributes and skill trees that allow players to customise how their characters will play. The older characters from the first Disney Infinity will work in 2.0, and will now have attributes and skill trees in the new game as well.

Power discs are the other big addition and they come with starter sets, which are placed directly beneath the figures to add to the game. A power disc might boost attributes for anyone, but place that same disc under Spider-man and you unlock his black, symbiote suit (read her turns into Venom). Other discs can add in artificial intelligence controlled companions like the Winter Soldier or vehicles like Agents of SHIELD’s Lola.

Maleficent is making her way to Disney Infinity as well, but like the added characters of Elsa and Anna to 1.0, she may not work within the story mode and will be restricted to the Toy Box. The Toy Box is Disney Infinity’s creation suite for players, and Disney is adding some structured games to the Toy Box this time around.

Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes will be available for Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 on 23 September.
